"My name is Charlene, I’m a first-time mum. My daughter Mylah Esmé was 9 days old when me and her dad took her to the Durham newborn photoshoot. The aim was to capture those gorgeous little features and special first days of Mylah’s life so we could have photographs that we would treasure forever. From the moment we walked in, we felt at ease and relaxed with Melanie and the two photographer Simona and Sue, who she was training.
It was evident that Mel and her team had a ton of expertise to be able to pose Mylah safely and effectively but what blew me away was the gentle manner and patience they had in being able to soothe Mylah and continue to keep her settled for the duration of the photoshoot which was approximately nearly two hours long. Throughout the full session, I never once worried or doubted anything they were doing despite me being a new Mam. Mylah was in fantastic, safe hands and her needs were always at the forefront of their minds.
Upon arrival, Mel told us what the photoshoot was going to consist of and asked if we wanted a drink. She ensured she talked us through every step of the session which put my trust in them even more. Due to me having an emergency section with Mylah, they made sure I had a comfy seat to be able to sit back and relax where I could enjoy the whole experience. They made us feel like special, valued clients.
Overall the morning was amazing for us all. From getting there, to picking out our frame it was so much fun. To see my daughter getting photographed made me so happy and a little emotional. What stood out was the team work, their relationship was fantastic and how they support each other. The way they talked through everything to me and they made Mylah 100% safe at all times. Thank you all so so much."
