You’ve secured the investment amount, you love the product and know you can make it work, but now the Franchisor wants to interview you, why?

From a Franchisors perspective I will ALWAYS interview my franchisees, this is a working relationship after all and you are representing a brand we have built up over many years, our reputation, our customer service and our business is on the line... of course we will interview you. Please do not be offended if you get invited for interview, it's a great step... I would be more wary of a Franchise that didn’t want to speak to me and know everything about me.
To me it is all about whether you embody our business beliefs for example, are you driven? Do you have what it takes? Taking on a new Franchisee is a lot of work for a business, and companies want the best they can get representing their brand. A franchisee who isn’t hard working or determined becomes a problem to a company about through interviewing we can help alleviate problems further down the line.
The interviewing process isn’t about grades and degrees, I like to have a conversation, learn about the person, what's driving them, why our franchise, have they got what it takes to meet their goals, and what are they?
A good franchise will always be a working a working relationship between franchisor and franchisee.
Be on time... start as you mean to go on. For me if someone is late to an interview with no explanation it doesn’t give me much confidence that they will be able to run their business to schedule.
