Children's Cookery Franchise
Start a flexible business teaching children to cook – with full training and support!
Smart Raspberry offers an exciting opportunity to build a business delivering fun, educational and hands-on children's cooking classes, cookery workshops, holiday activities and parties. Designed for children who love creating, cooking and learning, the Smart Raspberry franchise provides a flexible business model with multiple opportunities to generate income throughout the year.
You don't need to be a professional chef or experienced teacher to become a Smart Raspberry franchisee. With training, support and an established programme of activities, you can build a children's cooking business that combines entrepreneurship with the opportunity to make a positive difference to children's learning and development.

A Children's Cooking Business with Multiple Revenue Streams
A Smart Raspberry franchise offers a variety of ways to generate income throughout the year.
-
After-school cookery clubs
Classes can be delivered in primary schools, with children learning practical cooking skills and preparing fresh recipes each week. Classes typically run for 12 weeks per term and can provide regular recurring revenue.
-
School holiday workshops
Classes offer themed half-day or full-day activities, with recipes based around different countries, seasons, festivals and occasions.
-
School workshops
These classes provide another opportunity to work directly with schools, delivering hands-on cooking sessions during the school day. Franchisees can also offer
-
PPA cover
A typical day consists of us running 4 workshops for groups of 30 children at a time. Most lessons last for 60 minutes and include a presentation, “whole class” and individual activities and a show-and-taste component. Each session includes a practical hands-on recipe for the class to prepare.
-
Teenagers & Duke of Edinburgh
For older children and teenagers, there are opportunities to run weekend cookery clubs and Duke of Edinburgh skills courses, helping young people develop greater independence and confidence in the kitchen.
-
Parties
Provide an additional revenue stream, with popular themes including pizza and cupcake making. Franchisees can also generate additional income from party extras and merchandise.
There are further opportunities through community groups, fairs, festivals and private tuition, allowing franchisees to develop a business around the opportunities available in their local area.
Potential Turnover
The franchise offers the opportunity to start small and build gradually, with the potential to increase turnover by adding more classes and activities.
For example, annual income of £28,080 from five after-school classes per week, increasing to £56,160 from 10 classes per week
Additional income from offering extra classes can include a further £10,800 from 10 holiday workshops, £21,600 from 20 workshops, and £9,200 from 40 children's parties in a year.
These figures are examples of potential turnover rather than guaranteed income. Actual results will depend on factors including the number of classes and workshops delivered, local demand, pricing, venue costs, ingredients, staffing and other business expenses.
Flexible and Scalable
One of the key attractions of the opportunity is the ability to start part-time and grow the business at your own pace. The business can be operated from home, with classes and activities taking place in schools, community venues and other suitable locations.
As demand grows, franchisees can employ additional staff and expand the number of classes and activities they offer. This means the business can potentially develop from a part-time operation into a larger, established children's activity business.
Franchisees partner with schools and local village halls etc to run classes and therefore no premises are needed.
What Support Is Provided?
Franchisees receive comprehensive training covering both the practical delivery of the business and the skills needed to launch and develop it. The package includes business training, practical cookery training, launch support, marketing materials, an operating manual, recipes, lesson plans and teaching equipment.
The franchise package includes equipment for running classes, workshops and parties, together with access to a three-year rolling curriculum and regularly refreshed recipes. Franchisees also receive personalised marketing templates, a dedicated business page and email address, and support with their initial DBS certificate.
Following launch, ongoing support includes regular goal-setting and review calls during the first few months, telephone and email support, an online franchisee forum and ongoing training.
