We asked Lizzie to share why she joined Bloom as a franchisee and about running her classes:
Before buying my Bloom Franchise I was a secondary school Science teacher. I was attracted to Bloom because the classes seemed so friendly and welcoming and I wanted to be able to have a fun job that would allow me to pick up from eldest from school everyday. - It was also apparent that if I was prepared to work hard, I could still command a good salary but strike a better balance between work and family life.
Running the classes really is a very pleasant and happy experience and I really get a lot of job satisfaction from seeing how much the Parents/Carers and babies enjoy the classes. - It makes me feel so pleased and proud when a Parent/Carer comments on how much they enjoy the classes and how much their little one's have progressed since starting Bloom classes.
I work for a couple of hours, three nights per week on admin and advertising, after my young boys are asleep. I also work for a couple of hours on a Sunday night, preparing my classes/theme for the the following week. In addition, I spend about 2-3 hours per week cleaning my kit to ensure that everything is hygienic.
As my franchise has been really successful, I'm now doing twelve classes per week and am currently working to full capacity. Therefore, I might think about hiring a class leader to run classes, concurrently, in other parts of my territory. Either way though, I'm really happy with how everything is working out.
I started Bloom after attending classes myself with my little boy from the age of 3 months. I really enjoyed the classes and saw the benefit that they had on my baby - he literally ‘bloomed’! I saw the potential that the classes had, as a Mummy myself, I knew how much other Parents and carers would enjoy the classes, so I took the gamble and gave up my full time job in childcare.Charlotte Timperley Franchisee of Bloom Cheshire East
