You might be surprised to know that the majority of new franchisees didn’t set out to start a new foot care business.
So we’ve caught up with new franchisee Jude to talk about her decision to become a foot care practitioner and why she chose Healthy Feet:
Having decided to leave my current job, I was looking for a complete change of career direction, whilst being aware that I was probably getting too old for one!
I knew I wanted to work for myself so I started by searched online for businesses for sale in my local area. I am interested in the Healthcare industry so I also looked into foot care courses.
Healthy Feet appeared on a business websites and they looked really interesting, so I looked through their website and downloaded the prospectus.
It just seemed so accessible and achievable. I was looking for a change of career and wasn’t blown away by anything else I’d seen, until I read about Healthy Feet.
There seemed to be no age barriers with Healthy Feet and I like the idea of doing something different and having a new adventure before it’s too late.
The main reason for joining Healthy Feet though, was the support I would get setting up my business.
I instantly liked everyone at Healthy Feet and realised how much support I would get from them.
I knew that I would never have made such major changes on my own without their support.
Yes, I have never worked with feet before and I was worried whether I could actually do it.
I didn’t know if I was going to be any good at the job, or whether I would get enough clients to earn a decent living.
I realise most of my concerns are about my own abilities and whether or not I’d be able to do the job.
I also realise that Sophie and Debra will be there to coach me through. And so far they have been nothing but supportive, helpful and friendly and I am really looking forward to growing my new business and our professional relationship.

Going into a franchise was not a decision that I took lightly, but after just 1 month in business I can honestly say it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Leaving a well-paid, secure job of 15 years was pretty daunting thought, but the job did not fit well around my young family, plus it was quite stressful.
