Katalin Pfortner is on a mission to prove that you really can balance work and a family with the launch of her second enterprise, the eco-friendly domestic homecare business, Bright & Beautiful.
Katalin who lives in Nottingham with her husband and young daughter, will be managing a team of her own housekeepers to deliver ethical, professional and eco-friendly cleaning, tidying and laundry services using only non-toxic and eco-friendly cleaning products and equipment.
Katalin first found her entrepreneurial feet in her native Hungary where she was an insurance broker for two years. After moving to the UK she was a full time housewife and mum for six years before she joined the family friendly Bright & Beautiful business in Nottingham as its very first employee. Having originally started as a housekeeper in 2012 she was promoted regularly over the next three years, ending up as operations manager for the very busy business.
Inspired by her success working for the company Katalin decided to buy the Bright & Beautiful franchise and launched her housekeeping business which will be creating a number of jobs for other women and men who want to have a career but not at the expense of family life.
"Being able to go out to work was something that I knew I wanted to do after having my daughter. But it can be really hard to find enjoyable employment that fits around school hours and means you can have a good standard of living.
When I first started work as a professional housekeeper it worked so well around my family life that I am delighted to be able to now offer that level of five star service and quality to my clients as well as the same type of family friendly, flexible employment to my fantastic team of housekeepers. The ethos behind my Bright & Beautiful business is all about empowering women – housekeepers, clients and the charities we support in the UK and overseas – and I’m enormously proud to be bringing that to Nottingham."
Bright & Beautiful is an award-winning business model that was founded by entrepreneur Rachel Ray in 2007. A busy working mum herself, Rachel spotted a gap in the market for a domestic cleaning company that provided full fair employment rights for its team, non-toxic cleaning products and an exceptional housekeeping service for its clients. Since then the business has grown from strength to strength with franchisees around the UK employing carefully vetted professional housekeepers and servicing thousands of clients.
