Meet The Owner Of One Of Ambience's Longest Serving Franchises!

Before joining Ambience, the thought of being in the wedding industry never even crossed Sandie Edgar's mind!

Ambience | Sandie EdgarBefore becoming a wedding stylist, Sandie felt like she was over worked and underappreciated whilst working in the legal industry as a solicitor. She thought enough is enough and then took some time out to be at home with her son and support her husband Gareth’s career.

We asked Sandie what led her to buy a franchise…

"We had looked at several franchise businesses and existing business to buy as options but wanted something that was a bit creative and in what we thought to be a 'happy' industry. The benefits we saw in joining a franchise is that the Model is there for you to get started immediately. Most importantly it’s not as lonesome as doing it on your own."

What Sandie loves about her job?

"The thing I love most about my job is that I am able to transform ordinary spaces into something amazing. In the wedding industry we get to meet some really lovely people.

Trends and products are ever evolving which really allows me to let out my creative side. So whilst there can be some repetition most events are different. Clients have their own ideas about what they want but also appreciate our input as stylists, especially if we know the venue well.

The most important lesson I have learnt with being in the wedding industry for so long is, never over promise and always deliver what you say you will. Quality, customer service and good timing are all essential."                                                                                         

Here is Sandie’s advice to someone looking to join a franchise…

"Honestly, think VERY carefully. It is not an easy, quick fix for success you still have to work very hard to get the business but it is good to know that Head Office is there in the background and that you can pick up the phone to them should you ever need them. It’s reassuring knowing that all the technical side of things are taken care of and that help and guidance is always available. We only need to ask!"
