OSCAR Pet Foods is now a way of life for Brian Hulme as he celebrated his 15th anniversary on 19th May 2018.
"OSCAR renewed my enthusiasm in working for my self from the start. Circumstances surrounding my previous experience destroyed my faith in self-employment, until I found OSCAR and its clear and honest approach to the procedures of setting up and running your own business. They promised and delivered and have never stopped!
At the time, Molly, my pet Labrador and my regular companion, was a great advert for my business. Her presence attracted new customers while making a huge contribution towards new business, which gave me something more to believe in. My relationship with customers brings repeat business and recommendations which are always rewarded with a box of treats – it has worked wonders for me.
I have always been realistic about my business, which has helped me to stay focused and also helped me to succeed and meet my targets. From the start I exceeded my expectations and OSCAR kept me in touch with changes, of which, in fifteen years, there have been more than a few.
Being my own boss, working to suit myself and my customers, I am never wondering what to do next. There is always someone to talk to, from Head Office to fellow franchisees and of course my customers, who are always on the receiving end of everything good for their pets.
Over the years I've built a repertoire of pet information and now with my official COAPE recognised qualification I am able to follow on from the days of Molly, and now Maisie, with much more knowledge gained from simply working with pets.
I do enjoy my business. I have built my life around my work – I have fun exhibiting at shows and fetes and I love meeting new people knowing I have the backing and support from a very professional organisation … working for myself."
