There is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring performing artists with The Stage newspaper to win a year’s place at a local Razzamataz Theatre School.
The Stage is the only weekly newspaper for the performing arts industry and it has been in publication for more than 135 years. This is the twelfth year that Razzamataz has been working with The Stage to offer a prestigious scholarship to a young person equating to more than 100 hours of exceptional performing arts tuition.
Lisa Martland has been a journalist with The Stage for more than 15 years. She is instrumental in creating the editorial around the scholarships. Lisa says:
"The Stage Scholarships offers a young performer unprecedented publicity in the newspaper, bringing them to the attention of leading producers and casting agents. These young stars will feature in the publication’s bumper Christmas photoshoot and YouTube video of the event. Plus a selection of Razzamataz winners and franchisees will be invited to attend the prestigious Stage New Year party, meeting with some of the biggest names in British theatre."
Razzamataz was the first part-time theatre school to participate in the scholarships and is incredibly proud to have been able to offer many youngsters the chance to experience training in dance, drama and singing.
Denise Hutton-Gosney, MD and Founder of Razzamataz, says:
"Some of our scholarship winners have never had any previous formal training but we spotted raw talent in them and knew with the right training, they could go on to be very successful. In fact, many of our scholarship winners are now gaining places in prestigious performing arts colleges and appearing in professional TV and theatre work."
Razzamataz Theatre Schools has been trading since 2000 with a strong, robust and proven franchise system for the last 11 years. Razzamataz remains one of the top five classic entrepreneurs from Dragons’ Den. Since the appearance on the BBC show in 2007, the company has forged strong partnerships with First Choice, Disney, The Stage, a leading Talent Agency, Her Majesty’s Theatre and new for 2017 Eurocamp.
Franchisees come from a range of backgrounds and are able to work flexibly around their lifestyles. Through a wide range of additional revenue streams, franchisees have been able to achieve a six-figure turnover. Razzamataz is delighted to be working with a new Business Management System for 2017.

I don’t have a business background so after deciding to retire from professionally performing it was the memories of Razzamataz on Dragons’ Den that set the wheels in motion. I was really inspired by the brand and the business model and because it is a franchise business we receive a lot of help and support from Head Office as well as on-going training so I can make Razzamataz Barnet the success that I believe it can be. In the last 12 months, I have doubled my student numbers in a very competitive market and I have now clear plans on how I would like my business to progress this year.Michael French, Razzamataz Barnet
Buying into a franchise is an excellent way to begin running your own business. You have all the benefits of working for yourself but the added support and proven success of a well established and recognised brand. For a person new to business, it is ideal.Helen Green, Razzamataz Sheffield
The support from Head Office is fantastic and they are always there to listen and to guide you through. You are getting advertising/marketing ideas, contacts and systems provided for you that you may not have if you were to open an independent school.Amy Latchman, Razzamataz Rickmansworth.
