Introducing Lisa Roberts From Razzamataz Rickmansworth

Lisa Roberts is a full-time mum of two and opened Razzamataz Rickmansworth with multiple 'Razz Minis' classes for the 4-5 year age group at point of launch.

Razzamataz Rickmansworth - Lisa RobertsQ. What do you think are the main reasons for your success?

I think one of the main reasons we have had a successful start with Razzamataz is that our school opened with a lot of students, which was down to the success of the launch. We had well over 100 booked in from the marketing we had done. We followed up every enquiry and contacted them again near to the date to check they were still coming and that they knew where they were coming and at what time.

Q. What advice can you offer other would-be franchisees?

Be realistic about how much time it will take to run a Razzamataz School at first. Unless you are already an experienced business owner, it takes a great deal of time and effort to get your head around everything that has to be done and continues to have to be done once your school is up and running. Once you have systems in place, everything becomes much quicker.

Q. What has been the biggest lesson you have learnt?

Not to beat yourself up when you get it wrong! Parents want to know their children are safe and having a good time. Try to work out what your USP is and not to be afraid to use it because you are what makes your business unique.Customer service is very important and treat each of your enquiries, parents and students with the attention they deserve.

Q. How should new franchisees approach launch day?

Follow the marketing guidelines set out by head office. The amount advised to spend on marketing is a lot but it works, and if you start with a good size school you can hopefully build from it.

Q. What are your plans for the future?

If I was a savvy business woman I would be aiming to open a second school, but at the moment I know my limitations, so for the time being I want to have a full, vibrant school and focus on giving the best personal customer service I can.

What Our Franchisees Say

I specifically wanted to go for a franchise, and in particular Razzamataz because of the support from Head Office and other Principals. This is a network of theatre school owners so you are in business for yourself but not by yourself.Alison Beveridge, Razzamataz Durham.

Buying into a franchise is an excellent way to begin running your own business. You have all the benefits of working for yourself but the added support and proven success of a well established and recognised brand. For a person new to business, it is ideal.Helen Green, Razzamataz Sheffield

The support and training we get means that we can get help on any aspect of our business. It has also been a fantastic and rewarding way of working, allowing me to continue to be there for the family while running my own business.Lisa Roberts, Razzamataz Rickmansworth
