Having spent two decades working separately Simon and Liz Baker are about to embark on their first business venture together, running eco-friendly domestic housekeeping franchise business, Bright & Beautiful in Sutton Coldfield.
Liz and Simon, who have lived in Cannock in Staffordshire for 25 years and have two grown up children, will now be managing a team of their own housekeepers to deliver ethical, professional and eco-friendly cleaning, tidying and laundry services using only non-toxic and eco-friendly cleaning products and equipment.
Before launching Bright & Beautiful Simon helped to run the family business of children’s nurseries, growing the business to four sites that cared for over 300 children and employed over 50 staff. Liz has been a qualified nursery nurse for almost 20 years and worked across two nurseries while also running the family home.
Liz and Simon plan to run a truly local and ethical business, hiring and servicing local people and delivering professional housekeeping services, using only non-toxic and eco-friendly cleaning products and equipment.
"Liz and I have been looking for a way to work together for a number of years and knew we had the experience and the enthusiasm to make it work. Bright & Beautiful gives us a great opportunity to go into business as a team delivering an eco friendly and ethical cleaning service that we are passionate about to the community.
Our own research* found that women are still responsible for the vast majority of housework in the home and almost half sacrifice family time to getting the housework done. We are here to help give local families their hugely important leisure time back by taking on all of those cleaning, tidying and ironing jobs that eat into their free time and weekends."
Bright & Beautiful is an award-winning business model that was founded by entrepreneur Rachel Ray in 2007. A busy working mum herself, Rachel spotted a gap in the market for a domestic cleaning company that provided full fair employment rights for its team, non-toxic cleaning products and an exceptional housekeeping service for its clients. Since then the business has grown from strength to strength with franchisees around the UK employing carefully vetted professional housekeepers and servicing thousands of clients.
