Time has gone in a flash for Tina Smith since joining Ambience… in October 2018 she celebrates being a part of the team for one year.
"The year has flown! When I started my business, I was busy for the first six months going out to visit venues and introduce myself and talk about what Ambience can offer. It felt quite daunting at first and some venues were harder to approach than others, but as my confidence grew I found it easier.
Now I understand how important it was to do the ground work, as I am seeing the benefits of building relationships with events coordinators and their venues."
"The first wedding I styled was a ceremony dressing and I did feel a little anxious the previous day, making sure everything was ready. But when I arrived at the venue I was fine, and I really enjoyed it. It was quite a simple set -up but I wanted everything to look perfect for the bride, the venue and for me. I had a short email from the bride a week later to say she loved the room and to thank me, although only a few lines it meant so much to know that she was happy with my work.
There have been lots of lessons learned over the past year, but one very important one is getting to know other suppliers. It has really helped me, as the networking is crucial and with getting to know them comes recommendation and this is the key. I have worked alongside several new businesses that understand the challenges you face when starting out. Also, many well established ones who have given me so much advice.
In three years, I hope my reputation as a stylist and a reliable friendly business has brought me lots of work and I am in the position to employ someone to help me grow further."

Ambience welcomed Adele in November 2018 even though she didn’t start running the Glasgow territory until January 2019.
