UK’s first Popstar Academy launches to celebrate new Barbie™

"Razzamataz is incredibly proud to be bringing the Barbie Popstar Academy to our schools to celebrate the launch of Barbie" By Denise Hutton-Gosney - Razzamataz Founder & MD

The Barbie Popstar Academy, run in conjunction with leading stage school Razzamataz, opens its doors to the public on Saturday 1st September 2012 with registration for FREE places available from today.

The Academy is the first of its kind and will take Barbie fans on a unique journey showing them what it is like to be a popstar for the day. It celebrates Barbie’s own magical adventure in her latest musical movie, Barbie ™ The Princess & the Popstar out on DVD 3rd September 2012, where she fulfils her lifelong dream of becoming a popstar.

Children taking part in the Academy will show that Princesses Just Wanna Have Fun as they learn songs from the movie with this remake of the Cyndi Lauper classic, as well as dance moves and act out key scenes from the film. The Academy will end with a performance to parents as they show off their newly found popstar talent!

The Barbie Popstar Academy takes place in many of the Razzamataz schools, giving fans a glimpse into Barbie’s magical world, and is run by experienced teachers to ensure little ones get the most out of this special event. No previous training is needed as children will be introduced to the basics of singing, dance and acting throughout the fun activities in the Academy.

Denise Hutton-Gosney, Founder and Managing Director of Razzamataz says: "Razzamataz is incredibly proud to be bringing the Barbie Popstar Academy to our schools to celebrate the launch of Barbie™ The Princess & The Popstar on DVD. Performing arts has great social, educational and health benefits for young people and we think that all children should give these activities a try."

The Barbie Popstar Academy will run on Saturday 1st September at many of the Razzamataz schools across the UK.
