The finalists for the prestigious What's On 4 2010 Awards have just been announced - and Bracknell based Baby Sensory, a former winner in the Best Baby Development Classes category is amongst them!
The award programme, which is again supported by Prima Baby & Pregnancy magazine, is now in its fourth year and celebrates the best activities across the UK, as nominated and voted for by parents.
This year, the awards are bigger than ever, covering 13 different categories ranging from Best Baby Development Class to Most Outstanding Community Group Volunteer for children.
Over 27,000 votes in total were made this year, 13,000 more than last year.
Baby Sensory is a parent and baby development activity which helps babies to develop by stimulating their senses. The weekly themed sessions include music, bubbles, bells, fibre optic light shows and a wide range of other activities. Since launching the programme in 2006, Baby Sensory has grown dramatically. Weekly classes now run in over 200 venues throughout the UK.
Baby Sensory Commercial Director, Ian Sharland, from Crown Wood in Bracknell, commented “We are delighted to be among the finalists in these awards again this year. It is important for all of the Class Leaders who run our programme throughout the UK to know that they are running a leading programme. It will also help with our overseas expansion. The timing is particularly good for us as Baby Sensory classes will be opening in Birch Hill in July so for the first time Bracknell based parents will be able to enjoy our programme.”
Baby Sensory has created nearly 100 jobs in the UK over the past 2 ½ years and the programme is now being launched in China, Hong Kong, USA, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Spain, Denmark and Malta.
The winners of the awards will be announced on 27th June 2010 at the Baby Expo Brighton and presented with their award certificate by Phil Gallagher from Cbeebies Mister Maker and the winners of the community awards will also receive prizes for their groups including £500 for the Most Outstanding Baby and Toddler Group award sponsored by Halos N Horns.
What's On 4 founder Sam Willoughby said: "This last stage of our awards has to be the most exciting and all of our finalists should be very proud. It's been very close in many of the award categories, with the winners often changing from day to day. I can't wait to reveal the winners in June."
