Lower your energy costs and raise funds for your good cause

“You can save up to £325 on your energy bills and raise funds for your good cause at the same time." - Chris Gordon, Auditel

Cost management Auditel franchisee Chris Gordon has come up with a startlingly brilliant idea for raising funds for your favourite charity. There are a number of sites like Moneysupermarket.com which compare energy and other household costs, but none which enable a contribution to charities.

Here’s how it works.

Visit http://www.communitysave.co.uk, which is accredited to the Energywatch code of practice. Enter your postcode and relevant details about your current energy supplier. Select your new deal, which includes all suppliers and tariffs – some not commonly publicised - and complete the application form. Confirmation via e-mail will follow with your details forwarded securely to your chosen supplier. The supplier will organise the switch and contact you to confirm when the service will start. It usually takes between four to six weeks for the transfer to be completed. The new supplier will keep you updated with progress after the cooling-off period expires.

You can now register any group looking to raise funds – a brownie pack, a sports club, a school PTA, or a charity, by simply filling in the contact details. You will be contacted to explain how the whole process works. After being allocated your CommunitySave password, you can start saving and raising funds! CommunitySave will regularly update your chosen good cause with how much money has been raised for them. For every household that changes their supplier, your good cause can receive a donation of £15 – (£7.50 for gas and/or £7.50 for electricity). Donations will be paid to them on a quarterly basis.

Chris reveals: “You can save up to £325 on your energy bills and raise funds for your good cause at the same time. The site can also take on board businesses who wish to raise funds locally and help their staff on their own home bills.”
