Rain may stop play in Yorkshire’s beloved cricket but not for musicians if you are in the Friendly Band (Sowerby Bridge).
A heavy shower for the 30 members of the 1868 established Yorkshire brass band means marching and playing in uncomfortable wet uniforms. After a particularly bad soaking at the Whit Marches in May, band secretary Paul Fielden decided protection from the elements was needed.
Recognition Express West Yorkshire came to the rescue, producing 30 Navy blue, 3 in 1 jackets complete with embroidered emblems front and back, ready for the band’s next performance at the Brighouse Lions March and Hymntune Contest the following week.
Commenting on the one week turn around by Carol Caton and her staff from Recognition Express West Yorkshire Paul said :”They are great; if you tell them it’s urgent they always do their best to get it to you on time. Carol said ‘We are often asked to source and produce goods in a short time-frame and this gives us a challenge we are keen to meet. In over 26 years of business we have never missed a deadline although in some cases it has meant us going to great lengths to ensure punctual delivery. We are very proud of the goods we supply and take a sense of fulfilment when we see them in use by local groups and national companies alike.'
