New £1m loan fund to help Croydon business grow
7th November 2007

We hope that £1m of funding and the new office space, alongside the events happening throughout Enterprise Week, will give hundreds more local people the chance to make their big idea happen.’ - Stella Okeahialam, Director of the Croydon Enterprise progra
On the eve of Enterprise Week (12-18 November), Croydon Enterprise has announced a £1m loan fund to help businesses in the borough grow. Aimed at businesses who have struggled to get loans from banks and other mainstream sources, loans on offer range from £2,001 to £50,000.
Says Stella Okeahialam, Director of the Croydon Enterprise programme, ‘When TV Dragon Peter Jones visited Croydon back in the summer he was seriously impressed with what he saw. Throughout the borough there are people with great businesses, what’s holding many back is the money to help them grow.
For anyone who has struggled to get a loan from the bank I’d say call our hotline on 020 8680 6161 and find out how to apply for a ‘Croydon Enterprise Loan Fund’. One call could change your business life.’
In addition to finance, Croydon Enterprise has tackled the other sticking point for new businesses – finding the right premises. Some recently available office units have been snapped up by Croydon Enterprise to offer at affordable rates to start-up and young businesses. Anyone interested should contact the Business Hotline on 020 8680 6161.
Stella adds ‘One in 10 people in Croydon already have their own business. We hope that £1m of funding and the new office space, alongside the events happening throughout Enterprise Week, will give hundreds more local people the chance to make their big idea happen.’
